Wildcats top Northmen 54-30

ALPENA, Mich. — All throughout the contest, Jade Schultz dominated in the paint. Her 20 points helped the Alpena Wildcats girls basketball team get back to their winning ways last Friday. They took care of business on their home court defeating Petoskey 54-30.

Petoskey tried making this a game in the second quarter, but Alpena wouldn’t even let them breathe. The Wildcats went into halftime with a 25-15 lead. From there, Alpena was able to hold their ground the rest of the way. Allison Urlaub also had herself a nice night as she finished with 11 points off the bench.

Both teams will return to action on Tuesday. Alpena (5-4) will be in Tawas to take on the Braves (3-7), while Petoskey (1-9) hosts Traverse City Central (2-7).
