Alpena — Five Alpena Wildcats high school boys soccer players were honored for their achievements this season, midfielder Aidan Day, forward Grant Botha, goalkeeper Wenton Harrison, midfielder Noah Carstens and midfielder Deven Saranen.

Senior Day finished the season with 55 goals, 35 assists and 90 points, making school history for all three categories. Day also scored the most goals in one game as a junior. The senior midfielder was honored as the Big North Conference Player of the Year, District Player of the Year, First Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State.

“It’s a very good feeling,” said Day. “I’ve been working up to that my whole high school career and before high school, so I knew I was capable of it before the year.”

Day is looking to continue his career and play college ball.

Teammates Botha and Harrison earned Second Team All-League and First Team All-District. Carstens and Saranen received Honorable Mention All-League.
