Wildcats Improve Week by Week on the Green
Jack Schmanski scores team best of 82 at Alpena Invitational. (May 17,2018)
Alpena packed up their golf clubs and hit the green on Thursday, May 17th for the Alpena Invitational. Fifteen teams brought their JV and Varsity teams to get some practice in before Regionals.
Wildcat Sophomore Jack Schmanski led the pack. He shot the team’s best score at 82. He shot 39 on the front nine and 43 on the back. Sean Stevens and Jhett Werle followed behind with a score of 92.
The green and white finished in 6th place, but Head Coach Eric Mitchell is optimistic. “It’s been a very difficult start because we haven’t been able to practice,” Mitchell said, “but now that we’ve been out, we are showing improvement. Every week we’ve gotten better.”
The Wildcats will compete in five more tournaments before Regionals.
