ALPENA, Mich. — Back on Sept. 17, the Alpena Wildcats boys soccer team couldn’t put the pieces together, losing to Cadillac 6-3. Fast forward to last Tuesday, the Wildcats got revenge. Alpena ended a seven-game conference (Big North Conference) losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Vikings. With the victory, the Wildcats picked up their first conference win of the season.
Brett Najmowicz scored the lonely goal in the contest. With 30:38 left in regulation, the senior found the back of the net off a penalty kick.
This Thursday, Alpena (8-10-1) will be in Traverse City to take on the Titans (Traverse City West). Game time is at 7 p.m.
