Widespread showers Saturday; Drier by Monday

Showers today have persisted north of M-72, though spotty light showers have intermittently rolled through areas to the south. Tomorrow, a storm system will travel from the Gulf Coast region up to the Northeast, and showers on the far western side are likely to cover much of the state.

Cloudy skies, showers, and a light breeze out of the northeast limited high temperatures to the middle and upper 40s this afternoon. Similar high temperatures are expected through the weekend.

Overnight, clouds and showers will keep temperatures mild, as overnight lows settle around 40 degrees. The chance of showers will be greatest tomorrow morning and afternoon with highs in the mid-40s, and a breeze picking up out of the east about 15 mph.

Damp weather will continue into tomorrow as moisture enters from south. A separate system from southern Canada will slide into the Upper Midwest on Sunday, though the chance of showers across Northeast Michigan will gradually start to lower on Sunday. Drier air will finally arrive Monday.

For Saturday, showers are likely throughout the day with highs around 45 degrees. The chance of showers is lower on Sunday, early-morning temperatures will start in the middle and upper 30s, then afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 44 degrees. On Monday, cloud cover will decrease throughout the day, and milder temperatures will enter Monday and Tuesday.
