Alpena MI –  For your night tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with lows dropping into the mid to upper 50s, some inland areas will bottom out in the lower 60s. For tomorrow we will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast and mid 80s inland. We should remain dry as well which could be a concern for farmers and their crops. The drought map shows that the middle of Michigan is under the abnormally dry category (the yellow oval) and it looks to be expanding throughout Michigan. The month of May was the 5th driest May on record out of 107 years of weather records. Sunday night looks like our next best chance of showers, but that is still not going to help our rainfall deficit. We will continue to see below average rainfall chances going through next week, but cooler temperatures are on the way for next week with highs only getting into the 70s for most of next week.
