ALPENA, Mich. — We are officially six weeks in to the high school football season in Michigan, with only a few weeks until the playoffs.
Oscoda was in Harbor Springs tonight, and the Owls beat the Rams 26-8. The Alpena Wildcats found the win column, winning 10-7 in Gaylord after a late Sam Cook field goal. Johannesburg Lewiston dropped their game to St. Ignace 30-14.
As for 8-man football, Alcona and Rogers City were back and forth until the end, with Rogers City picking up the 30-24 win. Hillman routed Onaway, winning 56-14, and Mio needed a big second half to beat Atlanta, final score was 49-32. Au Gres Sims nudged Hale in a close 58-50 victory, and Posen beat Charlton Heston 60-12.
