Before Wednesday, organizers of the 48th Brown Trout Festival were worried about not having enough volunteers.
However, members of the community have stepped up, and the remaining spots have been filled. The lack of initial responses had caused organizers to start to reconsider future festivals, including the 50th taking place in just a couple of years.
There will still be conversations to be had in the coming months, but with the responses president of the festival Peggy Donakowski has received, there’s less concern about volunteers. “Everybody’s looking forward to it. It’s great,” she said. “Every department will be filled, bands will be playing, all new vendors, great.”
This year’s festival will be a step up following the past two which were downgraded due to the pandemic.
