Vikings gain confidence in double-header split with Oscoda

Posen's George Kroll hits a bunt for the 8-0 lead vs. Oscoda.

Posen, Mich. — The Posen Vikings hosted the Oscoda Owls who were (17-4) entering the double-header. The (9-9) Vikings did not let records stand in their way.

The red and white took the early lead, and then caused more damage in the fifth with an RBI single by Jory Zdybel and a beautiful bunt by junior George Kroll to bring home Jared Kamyszek for the 8-0 lead.

Owls’ senior Jacob Condor punches a two-run dinger in the sixth, but Oscoda ran out of time as Posen took game one 8-2. Kroll pitched a complete game for the Vikings.

“Coach was telling me he was going to limit me out at 50, and I said when we hit the fourth I said no way I’m going all the way,” said Kroll. “We’ve had a season where you win a couple and lose a couple, and to take out a team like Oscoda feels great.”

Oscoda got revenge in game two taking down Posen 18-2, but the Vikings will use that game one momentum as they prepare for Districts in Atlanta on June 1st.
