Vandalism continues across Alpena

Vandalism is still ongoing in Alpena. Starlite public restrooms were the latest to be defaced.

The restrooms use to be able to be open 24 hours now they will be closed during the hours of 9 pm until 8 am each day. This follows what was reported last week where port potties were being knocked over.

Alpena City Manager Rachel Smolinski said, “We just opened our Starlite public restrooms to the public this past Friday and then on Saturday night we already had an incident of vandalism within the restrooms as well as another porter john that was knocked over.”
