ALPENA, MI. – The United Way of Northeast Michigan has received a substantial grant.
United way is a $75,000 grant funding recipient from Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, Michigan health Endowment fund and the WK. Kellogg foundation. This grant will be utilized to address food and nutrition insecurity to improve health equity Michigan. Executive director Joe Gentry says this grant will improve nutrition insecurities in Alpena. This grant will utilize proven strategies to increase nutritious food grown locally for food insecure children and seniors here in Alpena County.
