Two Bit Operation Arcade Finds New Home in Downtown Alpena

ALPENA, Mich. —Bob’s bullpen has acquired the rights to the “Two Bit Operation” name and is set to open the new arcade on December 14. All of the machines are brand new but are replicas of the originals. They also have over 2,600 games collectively. Owner Bob LeFevre says that if you were to play a different game each day for seven years, you wouldn’t play the same game twice.

LeFevre says he hopes that the nostalgia of the retro arcade will resonate with the community of Alpena. “I think it’s just something that people have a lot of connection to, that grew up around here,” he said. “Over the years, Alpena has lost a lot of things that we really loved as children, so I’m trying to bring back some of those things through the Bullpen.”

The arcade will have all the classics including Pac-Man, Rampage, Galaga and much more. There was previously a Two Bit Operation on Washington Ave. decades ago, and also in the mall. Bob says people who are familiar with the old arcades will recognize some similarities, including wizard decorations.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on December 13 and the grand opening is on December 14 at Bob’s Bullpen.
