The Battle of the Defeated is our Game of the Week
MIO, Mich. — Our game of the week is a battle of 0-5 teams as the Mio Thunderbolts welcome in the Wolverines of Au Gres-Sims. So we know one of these teams will get their first win of the season this Friday.
The Wolverines are looking to bounce back after they dropped a heartbreaker to Atlanta last week, losing 44-42. On the other side, even Mio fell to Inland Lakes (50-14) last week, head coach Jason Socia believes his team is getting better as the season goes on.
“We are a very young team,” said Socia. “Last week we played a lot better, even though we lost. Hopefully we can get a win. The kids deserve it and they are working very hard.”
Both of these teams have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball. Going into Friday’s matchup, the Wolverines are allowing an average of 57.6 points per game, while the Thunderbolts are allowing an average of 51.6 points to their opponents.
The opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
