Summer reading’s not just for kids

ALPENA, Mich. — For those of you looking to expand your mind this summer, the Alpena Library has you covered.

When you hear about summer reading programs, you typically think about school. This summer, however, the Alpena Library’s program includes options for adults! The Library has a list of books to choose from, with corresponding crafts and discussion questions.

Librarian Sara Grochowski said there may even be in–person meetups.

“We’ve planned all of our meetups to be virtual. But, if we’re able to, we will have drop-in activities that maybe aren’t necessarily part of summer reading, but are in person, if we’re able.”

Grochowski said this year’s program should run more smoothly because the library has more pandemic experience.

Summer reading this year integrates a page–tracking app for readers.

It also offers reading level flexibility between age groups.

Registration opens June 7 and closes June 12.
