Stark is staying in Alpena
ALPENA, Mich. — We’re less than a week away from National Signing Day. However, Alpena Community College men’s basketball coach Mark Jacobs was very anxious to make his first signing in 2020. Current Alpena High School senior Kelley Stark, went pen to paper as he signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his athletic career on the hardwood.
In his final season with the Wildcats, Stark is averaging 15.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. When Stark was given the opportunity to play close to home, it was something he couldn’t pass up.
“I’ve always liked Alpena,” said Stark. “Coach Jacobs provides a good basketball program for all the Northern Michigan kids than anybody. I felt that it was the best fit for me.”
In the classroom, Kelley plans on majoring in Criminal Justice. Stark and the Wildcats return to action tonight when they host Traverse City Central. The opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
