St. Paul’s holds their Annual Pasta Night

Saturday night, the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Alpena held their annual pasta dinner, and the community and congregation showed up for the amazing food. Lorie Dziesinski, co-host and cook, said, “The stewardship committee at St. Paul’s, we do this annually. We have a pasta dinner, and it’s a fellowship evening for our members and the community.”

Fellowship has the meaning of shared participation within a community. The fellowship for St. Paul’s decided that those who donated and participated in the annual pasta dinner would help out two worthy causes, with one that the church put on and another from the local community. Dziesinski said, “It’s an evening and you know that people can get together and have dinner and visit. We do have a freewill offering for the dinner, and that’s used for donations that we do in the community. This year, we are donating some money to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, and taste from home, which is a group within our church that sends goodies to people that are in the military.”

Everyone that showed up was happy to donate to two good causes, but the reason everyone was excited was for all the delicious food made for the event. Dennis Dziesinski, co-host and cook, said “What we’re offering to eat today is spinach alfredo pasta, and then we have cajun pasta. We have lasagnas. We have pizza casserole, baked spaghetti casserole, chicken pasta, sauerkraut and noodle pasta, along with salads and lots of desserts.”
