SPRUCE, Mich. — A Spruce favorite has gratefully reopened and is excited to welcome back guests. Smokey’s Restaurant is back and better than ever.

The original burned down in may 0f 2018. Inside the new building, you can find a modern wood aesthetic and plenty of familiar faces.

Smokey’s serves a variety of entrees including brisket, smoked ribs, chicken, seafood, and a full bar.

Manager Cindy Laur said she’s excited to welcome old and new guests.

“A building is a building. And sometimes things have to change for a reason. But Smokey’s  has never been a building. It’s a mindset; it’s a family; it’s a place you’re welcome whether we’ve known you for a dozen years or we just met you.”

If you are looking for something familiar, Laur said they have two paintings that were salvaged from the fire.

She adds that they have plans to expand the menu as renovations near completion.
