Sheldon, Ladyjacks cruise past Delta in doubleheader

ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Community College softball team picked up a pair of wins on Wednesday, beating Delta Community College by scores of 10-2 and 14-6. With the two victories, the Ladyjacks improve to 11-18 on the season and extend their winning streak to three games.
In game one, the Ladyjacks generated 17 hits on offense. Paige Wooden, Aubree Sheldon, and Linnea Hentkowski each recorded two RBI’s and Dayna LaBell chipped in with three hits and an RBI. Jade Schultz picked up the win on the mound, allowing two runs on seven hits. The right-hander also fanned seven batters.
The Ladyjacks kept the bats alive in game two. Paige Wooden had herself a game at the plate. The freshman went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI’s. Riley Alexander went 3-for-3 with three RBI’s and Sheldon contributed with three hits and an RBI.
This Friday, the Ladyjacks will host Mott Community College in a doubleheader.
