Sgt. Bednarski promoted to jail administrator

ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena County Sheriff’s Office recently promoted Sergeant Christina Bednarski to jail administrator.  Sergeant Bednarski was hired in 2015 as a corrections officer. She attended the Wayne County Regional Police Academy and graduated on May 4, 2017.  As a deputy sheriff, she worked the road and transitioned to Thunder Bay Junior High School as their liaison officer.  As the liaison officer, she also became a DARE instructor.

Sergeant Bednarski was one of six individuals who interviewed for the jail administrator position on February 5, 2021 and was promoted on February 8.

“It is apparent the role of a jail administrator is daunting and extremely time consuming. However, I’ve had an overwhelming amount of support from my staff members, sheriff and undersheriff,” said Sergeant Bednarski
