Friday the Alpena Senior Citizens Center will be holding a Medigap vendor fair for seniors looking to shop around for new health care plans.
PR Manager, Tracy Niedzwiecki said this is a time for seniors to come out and explore their plan options. There will be over 13 vendors at Friday’s fair including State Farm, Metlife, Thrivent, and Priority Health.
The vendor fair for set up to relieve stress that seniors could be facing with plan issues, and to educate and inform them about their Blue Cross, Blue Shield plans. Earlier this month we learned that many seniors would be affected by the blue cross, blue shield legacy plan.
Over 2,000 seniors in Alpena County have been affected. Niedzwiecki said it’s important to know your coverage. Niedzwiecki along with the other staff members at the senior citizens center encourages seniors to bring family members with them to Friday’s fair.
