Romeo Bourdage taking over AHS Principal duties

ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena now knows who will be sitting in the principal’s desk at Alpena High School for the 2021-22 school year.

Assistant Principal Romeo Bourdage, who currently serves as the E-House Principal and has held that position for over ten years, will be taking over the Principal’s Office in the high school. Bourdage has worked with the school district for 30 years, and Superintendent David Rabbideau says he is confident Bourdage is the right man for the job.

“I’m pretty sure there’s very few people who don’t know who he is and don’t have positive things to say about him,” Rabbideau told WBKB. “But for the school district, he’s also got a great vision of uniting the high school team, getting them going and recovering from COVID.”

Thomas Berriman, the AHS Principal for the last four years, will be moving over to Ella White Elementary School as their new principal. Rabbideau says three administrators retired this year, which began the process of Berriman moving over and Bourdage stepping up.
