Rogers City passes food truck ordinance

ROGERS CITY, Mich. — After months of re–writes and re–reads, Rogers City officially passed its food truck ordinance on Tuesday night.

The City Council began work on the policy last fall in preparation for summer 2022. In its final version, the bill allows vendors to purchase licenses from the police department. This allows the city to keep track of businesses operating in their area and prevent trucks from harming established restaurants.

City manager Joe Hefele said he hopes this will bring a vibrant new flavor to the area’s dining life.
