Rogers City Nautical Festival draws major crowds

ROGERS CITY, Mich. – “The Nautical Festival has been around Rogers City for the past 40 years. Without the festival, we would suffer. It is the largest event bringing in the most people to the city each year.” said Kim Margherio, Chairmen of the Nautical Festival.

The festival will feature live entertainment, food vendors, parades, and a fair.  Businesses surrounding the festival reap the benefits of the extra visitors in town.

“It brings in a lot of people from in and out of the state. We see this large influx of people who are going to the businesses downtown. That really helps boost our economy in Rogers City. Some stores are extending their hours, while others are hiring on extra staff.” said Alex Harimoto, Main Street Director.

For the Festival Chairmen, Kim Margherio, months of hard work will finally pay off this week.
“I love the setting up process. Even though it is a lot of work, I really enjoy seeing all of the progress firsthand.”

The Nautical Festival will continue through August 7.
