ALPENA, Mich.– Pet owners across the US celebrated National Pet Day on Sunday, so the reporters of WBKB decided to share their own furry friends.

Anchors Stephanie Maniche, Matt Dzienski, and Jake Vanderbroek are all dog people.

Stephanie couldn’t bring her dog, Mimi, with her to Michigan, but her family keeps her up to date with her shenanigans. She said Mimi’s a small dog with a big heart who loves cuddling and watching TV.

Jake has two dogs back in New York, Junior and her mother, Bea.

Matt, meanwhile, loves to relax with his dog, Izzy. His family found her on Christmas Eve a few years ago, and they’ve been together ever since.

Anchor Tyler Krusz has two family dogs at home in Rhode Island, but he and his girlfriend adopted another animal companion here in Alpena: Bobo. Tyler says Bobo is the only cat he’s ever seen play fetch.

Kent Davis left a dog home when he came to Alpena. Her name is Daisy and she’s very excitable. However, He’s more of a cat person, and adopted Emilia from the Huron Humane Society last September. She’s practically become his alarm clock, waking him up for breakfast at 8 AM. She’s cuddly, feisty, and loves watching Mythbusters.

Pets come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities, but they all have on thing in common: we love them very much.
