Rainy Wednesday, Bright Thursday, Steamy Saturday

Although today started with sunshine, clouds are continuing to build in from the southwest. A low pressure system currently moving from Iowa into Illinois will pass just to the south of our area. On Wednesday, about a half-inch of rain is expected during the morning and afternoon.

High temperatures today reached the mid-70s in most places. Overcast skies and rain will limit the temperatures tomorrow, so highs tomorrow afternoon will be about 5-10 degrees cooler.

You will want to have the jacket and the umbrella tomorrow. In the afternoon, the high will reach only 66 degrees with scattered showers and a breeze out of the northeast about 10 mph. By the evening, the showers should depart to the east. A summer-like pattern change will follow, beginning on Thursday.

Tomorrow’s rain and cool temperatures will not last long. For Thursday, the sky will turn brighter and temperatures will warm into the 80s. Friday will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s. If you plan to spend any time outdoors this weekend, make sure to have a hat, sunscreen and water for the hot temperatures and strong sunshine. The weekend will start steamy with highs in the 90s on Saturday. The muggy weather will continue into Sunday, though there is the possibility of a shower or thunderstorm.
