Posen, Mio split double header

The Vikings look on during game one of their double header with Mio.

Mio, Mich — The Posen Vikings baseball team took the trip down M-33 for a double-header with the Mio Thunderbolts. The game was the first North Star action for both teams.

The Thunderbolts jumped to a 3 nothing lead in the first inning. Lewis Kuffel brought in the first run of the game with an RBI ground out. Will Ciske then cleared the bases with a flare-single to center field. Posen clawed its way back in with a 2 RBI single from Mark Wisniewski in the third. Jory Zdybel scored in the fourth on a suicide squeeze from Lyrical Mercier to tie the game. Mercier came through in the 6th with an RBI single to right field to give the Vikings the lead. Mio got the tying run on base, but George Kroll was able to work out of danger and complete the game.

Mio came out even and won the second game 5-3. Posen hosts Atlanta for their next game on Thursday at 4:00pm. The Thunderbolts host Hale for their next double header on Friday.
