Alpena — A classic tale with magical twists takes over the stage these next few weekends at the Thunder Bay Theatre.

Peter Pan comes to the sunrise side starting Friday, November 24. The production feature high school students and professionals telling the tale of Peter and his sidekick Tinkerbell on their adventures through Neverland. The Alpena High School Masquers have a few of their actors highlighting the cast including Thomas Jore who plays Smee.

“They can look forward to all of the comedy, all of the emotions the show brings, dances, the songs,” said Jore. “It’s going to be one heck of a ride.”

Actors will have an added twist on the stage, but it should bring quite a bit of fun and excitement.

“We have a live dog in our show playing Nana, so it’s been really fun to see how the kids and our professionals interact with something as unpredictable as six month old puppy on stage and to see some of their best work comes when they have to just act in the moment and figure out what to do with the dog, ” said Director Molly Stricker.

Stricker also talked about how impressed she has been with the high school students and their professional attitudes toward the work. This marks a full circle feeling for the AHS graduate as she played Peter back in a fifth grade.

This action packed fairy tale runs every Thursday through Sunday up until December 9th. Tickets are available at the door, or grab your tickets online at the Thunder Bay Theatre website.
