Alpena Police Department would like to remind city residents that vehicles cannot be parked on city streets from 3 – 6 am starting the first of November.
As the winter months approach, the city needs full access to these city streets so that they can thoroughly plow them and maintain safe and clear passage for all vehicles. Cars parked on city streets during this time will be ticketed, and if the car in question interferes with the snow plowing they may also be towed.
Police officers may allow citizens to park a vehicle on the street during this time if extenuating circumstances exist. If this applies to you, you must contact the police department for permission before parking on a city street. Please help the city with its snow plowing efforts by keeping this ordinance in mind.
