Owls Defeat Tigers to Complete Season Sweep

ALCONA, Mich. — The Oscoda Owls varsity soccer team picked up another conference win on the road, beating Alcona 5-2 on Wednesday. With the victory, the Owls are now 4-0 in the North Star League and have completed the season sweep, winning all three meetings against the Tigers.

Aiden Backstrom and Michael Wrona each had two goals, while Andrew Benton finished with one goal for the Owls. Michael Stepp dished out two assists, while Hunter Gerow and John Heisner each recorded an assist.

Joel Steiner and Tim Jamieson each finished with a goal for the Tigers, while keeper Caleb Kamischke finished with 18 saves.

Oscoda (6-4-3) will host Fairview next Monday at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, Alcona (2-10) will look to bounce back today as they will be in Tawas to take on the Braves at 4:30 p.m.
