Oscoda Rotary Club Rocket Contest to Raise Money for Area Schools
Oscoda is getting ready to blast off this weekend with a homemade rocket built by some local kids.
It’s an opportunity to raise some money for youth development at area schools. By registering for the Oscoda Rotary Club Rocket Contest, one lucky winner will earn $500. They just have to guess how high the rocket will go this year. The person who guesses the second closest will win $200, and third will win the backup rocket.
It costs $10 to enter the contest and the proceeds will go towards benefitting area schools. The launch is scheduled for Sunday, August 14. Other rockets will begin taking off at 10:30 a.m. at the Oscoda High School soccer field. Everyone is encouraged to show up and participate.
