Memorial Flowers to commemorate 9/11 victims

OSCODA, Mich.—People around the world are taking a moment to commemorate the September 11 attacks. Residents in Oscoda county plant flags for each victim that lost their lives. On this day, it’s a feeling most Americans will never forget.

Dozens of Oscoda residents gathered to plant 2,977 flags at the veteran memorial park in Michigan–each for a person killed in the terrorist attacks.

Joseph Brinn said he remembers he felt alone that tragic day 18 years ago.

More than 90 countries lost citizens. Citizens that were first responders, firefighters and police officers that gave their ultimate sacrifice to save america. Joseph says each year that they do this anniversary ceremony it’s important we honor the families of victims and and support those suffering from 9/11–related illnesses.

Today, as the world still heals. Joseph says he promises we will never forget.
