Onaway Sweeps Hillman for Third Straight District Championship
HILLMAN, Mich. — For the third year in a row, the Onaway Cardinals varsity volleyball team will compete in regionals. On Thursday, the Cardinals swept the Hillman Tigers 3-0 (25-17. 25-19, 25-17) to win the District 104 title.
“Winning never gets old,” said Onaway head coach Steve Watson. “Anytime these kids get to experience being champions at any level is fun.”
Breya Domke paced the Cardinals with 14 kills on the night. Lexi Horton added three kills along with four aces and Cloe Ehrke finished with 21 assists and three kills.
Onaway (19-12-1) will the play the winner of Alanson/Inland Lakes on Tuesday in the regional semifinals.
