Office of financial aid reminds Alpena Community College students to apply for scholarships

The deadline for Alpena Community College scholarships is right around the corner, and students are urged to get a head start for consideration.

Director of Financial Aid, Robert Roose, says applying for scholarships can take a load off students shoulders.

“Applying for scholarships and financial aid in general helps students to pay for schooling and takes one of those worries off their plate, and they can concentrate more on their studies.”

With deadlines approaching so quickly, students who want to be considered should complete the FAFSA and scholarship application as soon as possible.

“The application deadline for the state of Michigan is March 1st, so they have to get the FAFSA done first by March 1st, then they want to make sure they get the application for our scholarships done as well.”

ACC scholarship applications are due March 11. There are a variety of scholarships available to students based on need, involvement and focus area.
