Northern Strike returns to Northern Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — Northern Strike, one of the Department of Defense’s largest readiness training exercises, will return to the region next week.  The Air Force will test military aircraft landing on roads designed for cars and trucks.  The Michigan Department of Transportation will close M-32 from east of Herron Road to west of King Settlement Road for the landing exercise.  The road closure will take place August 5 from 8 to 1 p.m. The combat readiness exercises will take place across Northern Michigan from July 31 to August 14.
