Nicholas Skaluba guilty of 4 crimes, charged with 6

ALPENA, Mich. — The jury found Nicholas Skaluba guilty of two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the 1st degree and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance to commit another crime. The verdict comes after a 5-day jury trial.

The case opened in the summer of 2016. Skaluba was originally charged with six crimes, including two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the 3rd degree.

Defense attorney Dan White represented Skaluba. White says, “I’m in a sad state right now.”

Prosecuting attorney Ed Black represented the victims. He says he does not want to comment at this time. He wants to give the victims and their families space.

Families of both parties were emotional and broke out in tears upon hearing the verdict.
