Nessel cracks down on illegal wine shipments
LANSING, Mich. — Attorney General Dana Nessel was applauded by the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association for cracking down on illegal alcohol shipments to Michigan.
Last year Nessel sued two companies for illegally shipping alcohol to consumers in Michigan. Consent agreements were entered from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Neither company will be able to ship alcohol into Michigan without a license and are unable to accept orders from Michigan on their websites. Both companies will also have to pay a $10,000 fine.
Spokesperson, Spencer Nevins said he urges the Nessel’s office and MLCC to pursue and punish these “bad actors” to the fullest extent of the law.
