ALPENA, Mich.– If you normally drive along Werth Road, you might have noticed the Alpena Moose Lodge has a new sign!
This new electronic sign is actually a donation from the now–closed Neiman’s Family Market. The head of the Moose Lodge, Irvin Carriveau, met with Hal Neiman after the closing announcement several months ago. Carriveau hoped to buy the sign, but Neiman offered to donate it instead.
After months of preparation, programming, and electrical work, the sign is finally up.
Lodge Administrator John Ulch says the new sign represents the lodge’s resilience.
“I think it shows people that we’re moving along, that we’re not letting the pandemic slow us down, and when this passes, we’ll be improving.”
Jerome’s Towing also assisted with the installation. The owner transported the sign to the lodge for free.
