National Prescription Drug Take Back Day a Huge Success Saturday

Saturday’s drop off was a huge turn out as residents stopped by the Michigan State Police Alpena Post to dump their unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Residents were able to dump their unwanted drugs in a box that will be collected by the Drug Enforcement Administration. If you were unable to stop by the MSP Alpena Post this weekend, you can stop by during normal business hours Monday through Friday.

The Post is not accepting needles and sharps; those items can be dropped off at the Alpena Resource Recovery Facility at 4395 M–32 West during normal business hours and on Saturdays from 8 am until 1 pm.

All needles and sharps must be in sealed containers and marked needles and sharps.
