Mostly dry Thursday; Strong winds blow Friday

A weak area of high pressure near the western side of the Upper Peninsula is keeping our weather dry overnight through most of Thursday. However, fog will be possible overnight to early Thursday morning, reducing visibility in some spots. Unstable, thundery weather will remain off to our south, with a low pressure system over northern Missouri. A separate and weak storm system located over North Dakota will move in late Thursday.

Thursday, a few showers will move through Northeast Michigan during the evening. Cooler and brighter weather will follow for Friday with nearly no chance of rain. The next chance of showers will arrive Saturday midday to afternoon. That’s going bring a change in air mass, leading to much warmer temperatures over the weekend.

Winds Friday will strengthen out of the northwest, bringing in cooler temperatures. Winds will blow about 20-25 mph, it’ll be a windy and bright end to the week.

Thursday: Mainly cloudy and dry through the afternoon. Spotty showers possible in the evening. Early-morning temperatures will begin close to 38 degrees. Temperatures will climb to the 50s in the afternoon, reaching late-day highs close to 57 degrees. Evening temperatures will be in the lower 50s to upper 40s.

Friday: Mostly sunny and windy. Predawn temperatures will drop to about 35 degrees. Afternoon highs will get to around 50 degrees. Evening temperatures will head from the middle 40s to upper 30s.

Saturday: A chance of spotty showers midday-afternoon, getting warmer. Predawn lows will be close to 30 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the 50s in the afternoon. Highs will reach about 61 degrees in the late-afternoon. Evening temperatures will cool to the 50s.
