Michigan’s individual tax filing season official begins

Michigan’s tax filing season officially begins today.

Taxpayers can now begin filing their returns for the 2018 tax year.
Deputy State treasurer Glenn White says all systems are operating normally, and electronic filing is the easiest and most convenient way to file returns.
Printed tax forms will be available at public libraries, some northern Michigan post offices, Department of Health and Human Services offices, and treasury field offices.
Treasurer White says in order to prevent cyber criminals from stealing returns, tax payers should file as early as possible.
Free tax help is available for individuals with low income, disabilities, and those who are over age 60.
