Michigan Walleye Tour Announces Return To Alpena

Last year the Michigan Walleye Tour partnered with the Michigan Brown Trout Festival for a special two-day tournament.

The MWT were so impressed with the results and with the community that they are coming back for more.

The Michigan Walleye Tour announced that they will return to Alpena on the weekend of July 22nd for the final stop of their 2017 season.

Over recent years the Brown Trout Festival has seen the number of boats in their Walleye Tournament Drop to as few as 20 – But last year the entrees jumped to over 70, thanks in large part to the new found partnership with the MWT.

According to Thunder Bay Walleye Club member Romeo Bourdage, the fishermen were so impressed by the quality of fishing, and the warm and welcoming community of Alpena, that they had to return.

Brown Trout Festival President Peggy Donakowski is also excited to have the tour returning for another year, saying that more boats in the tournament means more people visiting Alpena and spending money at local businesses.
