This weekend, Michigan State Police Alpena post satisfied 22 outstanding warrants, and arrested nine people.
On Saturday night, a trooper on patrol witnessed a vehicle he recognized as belonging to an individual with a suspended license, driving in the city of Alpena. When the officer activated his emergency lights to indicate a traffic stop, the driver sped away, leading the trooper on a short, high–speed chase through residential streets, which ended in the garage of a 57 year–old man’s home. Once outside the vehicle, a short struggle ensued before he was taken into custody and lodged at the Alpena County jail.
The man faces charges including resisting and obstructing an officer, flee and elude, driving while license suspended, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating without insurance, and unlawful use of a license plate. In addition to this arrest, troopers also arrested a 26–year old Alpena man found unresponsive in his vehicle on US–23, on charges including operating with a high BAC, and possession of an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
