Michigan State 911 Committee Dedicates April 8th-14th as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

In honor of the men and women who work behind the scenes during emergency situations, the Michigan State 911 Committee has dedicated the week of April 8th through 14th as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

 Celebrating 50 years of service, State 911 Administrator, Harriet Miller-Brown said she’s proud of the improvements Alpena’s very own dispatch team has made to make sure that citizens in Northeast Michigan are taken care of during emergency situations.

The state of Michigan has over 2,000 telecommunicators, and answered at least 6 million calls in 2017.
