ALPENA, Mich.— Taking only call in orders over the phone is now the new operation at John Boy’s. Restaurants across the state of Michigan shut down their dine in areas Monday after Governor Whitmer signed off on the temporary closing of public spaces.
The Alpena staple has been open for almost 15 years serving customers a variety of food around the clock. Since the announcement, customers can place an order over the phone and choose the option to have their meal delivered or picked up curbside.
For many waitresses use to working the dine in area and relying on tips the new restrictions will cause a financial strain. Residents are encouraged to order locally to help keep businesses open. The executive order is in effect until March 30th.
