Local game shop turns 13
ALPENA, Mich. — K–otic Games celebrated its 13th year in business this October with a “13% off” sale.
Owner Gaige Tarsney bought the business last July after working there for about a decade. He said K–otic’s had to change with the times as games— like most media— shift towards digital–only releases.
“We’ve had to adjust by moving into other territories. Things like toys, plushies, collectibles — pretty much anything video-game-adjacent.”
This also marks the store’s first anniversary in its new location on Chisholm street. Tarsney said he’s seen more customers since moving out of the mall.
He looks forward to serving gamers young and old in the future.
