Local celebrities up for huge award

You’ve probably heard of “social media influencers,” people who have a large following on social media and have established credibility in their specific industry. These people have taken online platforms that we all use and turned them into successful businesses. Many people look up to social media influencers as celebrities. Right here in Alpena, we have our very own influencers, but they are different than the rest, they are furry and have four paws and they go by the username “Gone to the Snow Dogs.” Their videos bring in around 5 million views each month (yes, you read that right, 5 MILLION) and they have 2.7 million fans on Facebook. Now, the dogs are up for an award most people can only dream of, The People’s Choice Award. This award recognizes people (or animals) who have made a huge impact in their community and the winners are voted on by the general public.
