WBKB’s Isabella Shelton Learns the Basics with the Alpena Wildcats

ALPENA, MI – As the Alpena Wildcats hockey team continues their successful season, WBKB’s Isabella Shelton wanted to learn how to play the game from some of the best.

Coming off a 3-2 win over Riverview Gabriel Richard, the Wildcats took time out of their busy schedules to share some coaching tips. Sophomore right wing, Harrison Kaszibowski, understands the challenges involved with skating. “Being on the ice is totally different than running or walking,” he said. “It’s kind of hard to get your grip.”

With the help of Kaszibowski, Brody Thompson and Anden Marceau, their combined knowledge of the game helped Isabella stand somewhat gracefully on her feet. “They were really good,” she said. “They definitely had some experience teaching so that helped me a lot.”

While Isabella ices her ankles, the Alpena Wildcats prepare for their upcoming game against the Cadillac Vikings on Friday at 6 p.m.
