Langley named division 3 girls basketball all-state team

OSCODA, Mich. — Recently, the Associated Press has released its 2019-2020 girls basketball all-state team for Division 3. A number of girls’ basketball players were named either first-team, second-team, or honorable mention. One area athlete made this years list. After being named all-state honorable mention last year, Oscoda’s Lauren Langley finished her high school basketball career on a strong note as she was named first-team all-state.

“It’s really amazing,” said Langley. “This was never in the back of my mind. I was just trying to play hard and would try to leave my senior season without any regret.”

The senior forward averaged 20.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for the Owls, while shooting 59% from the floor. She holds two school records for both points (1,365) and rebounds (878). Langley helped the Owls capture the Big Dipper title in the North Star League and a district title. This upcoming fall, she will be heading to Ann Arbor to row at the University of Michigan.
