Lafarge Cement Plant in Alpena to Become Holcim
As of Thursday, the Lafarge Cement Plant in Alpena will transition to the Holcim identity.
It’s a move made by Holcim U.S. in an attempt to unify brands across the country, in hopes of creating a more sustainable world.
The cement plant has been operational in Alpena for 116 years, and while it undergoes a new name change, it will continue to provide the Alpena area with the service and products it has provided for over a century.
The plant has been instrumental in numerous construction projects around the state of Michigan, including the Gordie Howe Bridge and Ford Field. Also included in the rebrand is the Presque Isle Quarry.
