Kellogg partners with United Way for food drive
ALPENA, Mich. — United Way of Northeast Michigan partners with Kellogg’s for a first-ever statewide event collecting food to help stock food pantries throughout Michigan.
The “Summer Stock Up” event comes at a time of year when donations drop considerably.
United Way’s Executive Director Joe Gentry said because of COVID, food insecurities have increased. Gentry said United Way donated $5,000 to sponsor five pop–up pantries in Hillman and Montmorency. He said a report from the pantries indicated a change in those in need.
The event begins June 1-25 and drop off locations will be at the following:
- Dean Arbour Ford Lincoln – 1001 US 23 North, Alpena
- Cliff Anscheutz Chevrolet – 1074 US 23 North, Alpena
